about

This Eponymous 2022 release is LTR’s debut full-length album.

After the success of the previous EP, LTR frontman Dmitri Glover worked tirelessly to weave an array of acoustic sounds into a revolutionary album.

The album is not revolutionary in the outwardly, political sense. But rather it encourages revolution in the mind, the first and most vital step before any true change can take place. Not having a mind at all is thoroughly explored in songs like “Scarecrow Blues” or “Little Tin Man”
Then aspects of the human mind are also explored. The power of memory and nostalgia can be a powerful thing, “Fairy Tale” and “Another Folk Song” are presented as the good and bad versions of this, respectively. “Flying Dreams” seems to resolve the issue. Here, memory is part of the singer’s life but he resolves to not let it hold him back, and rather to fly. Political unrest and economic circumstances are featured in “Coulrophobia” and “Millennial Blues” but no answers are given. And “Old Gray Horse” addresses the fear of old age, death, and the potential loss of the mind altogether. Does our consciousness linger on? Or do we start again as the Scarecrow at the beginning of the album-mindless and completely blissful?

All of this is told in true Laketown Riots fashion, acoustic guitar, aided and embedded with mandolin, banjo, slide guitar, some keyboards, and lots of real unsampled percussion.
