Hot on the heels of their eponymous debut album, Laketown Riots is proud to present their new single “Tyke”. The single is a heart wrenching folk ballad that tells the true story of Tyke the Circus Elephant. In 1994, Tyke rebelled against her abusive handlers during a circus performance. She trampled and mauled two of her trainers; seriously wounding one and killing the other. She then charged the spectators, injuring more people and escaping into the city. She was eventually gunned down by police, in a slow and painful death. The tragic story of Tyke shocked the whole world and changed the way the public viewed circuses forever.
